turning egg while waiting to incubate

I ordered an incubator a couple of days ago, and my husband brought me 2 doz eggs from his freinds chickens.
I won't get the incubator for a few days.
So in the mean time when they say to turn the egg do they really mean rotate them. should I do it till I get I am able to put them in the incubator?
They are in cartons in my spare room.Some are a little dirty should I skip those Or wipe them off.?

Yes, turn them a couple times a day. Make sure they are in a cool area between 55 and 60 degrees. Do not clean the eggs. If the eggs get older than 6 or 7 days, you probably won't have a lot of success with the hatch. Also consider that you should set up your incubator and run it for 24 hours or so to get the temp and humidity settled before putting the eggs in. I hope that helps.

I guess I should clarify...actually spin the eggs. The purpose is to make sure the yolk doesn't attach itself to the wall of the shell.

They were just layed today.
It's going to be hard to keep them cool this time of the year.

It's usually not recommended to refrigerate them and you don't want them to be too warm either. Maybe somewhere in a basement or or a small room where the AC keeps it pretty cool? Just some ideas. Good luck with your hatch! I hope it is great.
