ok so i set the silkie eggs today (yay!) but i was wondering if it would be easier to turn them if i put all the eggs in a egg carton and just slightly raised one end of the carton ( by putting something like a wood block under that end) and then removing it several times a day??

I'm curious too

A lot of people use that method and have good success with it. I tried it my first time incubating and wasn't so successful, so I've been just turning them by hand instead. I think it's one of those things you have to try to see how well it works for you.

Good luck with your hatch, whichever way you choose.

Why not put a 2x4 under one side of the incubator and switch it to the other side when you want to turn/tilt the eggs. That way you don't have to open the incubator for any reason.

make sure your water wont pour all over though!!!! if you are going to use a 2x4 you can use brand new wet sponges to maintain humidity in your bator.

that Joe...always hookin' people up with the good info. geez! and the $2000 eggs....
