I know the APA only recognizes certain colors in ameraucanas but would mixing two different color patterns like a blue ameraucana with a splash ameraucana make them be considered a mixed breed even though technically they are still 100% ameraucana?

Crossing Blue and splash would be black, which is a color that's acceptable, I think. If it's not a approved color, I think theyte labeled project colors.
Oh thats crazy. Just looking at those two birds separately, I wouldn't think they would come out as black ameraucana

50% splash, 50% blue

APA has recognized breeds but only in recognized varieties. Idk exactly what they consider mixed patterned birds. It's more like they just don't consider them since they're not approved.
In most cases mixing colors/patterns isn't something APA approves of. Ya puts them on the same level as a mixed breed or at best an unapproved pattern.
Blue and splash is OK to mix as is black because mixing those three result in various results of the same three.
Blue with splash produce Blue and splash. Both are recognized varieties.
