Turning issue

First time using Brinsea Maxi 24. I set 20 Marans and EE eggs on Friday. Set the turner to 8 seconds every 30 sec. Most eggs turn ok , but the long narrower EE do not turn at all- not contacting the bottom plate in the turner. Can I put a rubber band around the eggs to get contact? Anyone have other suggestions?
Last resort-Hand turning would only get done 2x a day with my schedule.

That must be a typo? I have a 56EX set to the max of turning every 180 minutes.

How about if you tried putting your EE eggs every other one with the Marans? Or just rearranging them so a larger egg is between two smaller ones.

It is not a typo. This model turns different than your 56 in that the 24 is on a turn table.
I can set the eggs to turn as much as every 15 min, should I choose, and the turning angle corresponds to length of time in seconds. I have large eggs so I went with 8 seconds as recommended by manufacturer.
I have rearranged.
My question is how to get the long narrow EE (see pic) to make contact with the turn plate— I thought a rubber band may help.

Wow, so that model keeps 'em moving! Interesting.

I checked the reviews and didn't see anyone mentioning problems with turning eggs.

I'd be afraid of putting rubber bands on my eggs, which could introduce something from the band into the egg, especially considering the temperature. Warm rubber on an egg just doesn't sound like a great idea. I suppose trying it on one wouldn't hurt though.

Can that top egg holder be elevated a tiny bit?

That was my concern, too. I have another incubator but it has an mild odor of bleach- didn’t feel comfortable using it.
Thoughts on that?

Good thought- I will look into that.

In hind sight I should not have attempted so many eggs on the first run with a new incubator, but I was focused to time this hatch with the arrival of chicks from a hatchery.

We use Odoban to clean/sterilize our incubators. I would think that would get rid of the bleach smell. If it's in areas you can't reach and is safe to get wet, I'd just spray it and leave it.
