Turns out its a male (Tom/Jake)

Would it be possible for you to get a few more pics of it like full body shots and it with the other turkeys. Also how old is it? I am very tempted to say its a hen but looking at the snood tells me otherwise, I find that the males snood when it is retracted(not elongated) looks like a horn, wider at the base and thinning toward the tip. Where a females snood is the same or very close to the same width from base to tip.,

Your turkeys snood says tom to me but its hard to tell, if its still young then it could be a tom with the still hen like appearance

For comparison here are one of my Adult Tom and hen snood pics

Tom with his snood retracted

hen
Here are a few pics taken tonight.
1st one he/she sitting on perch. He is 6 months old best I can calculate from when we got it.

Two below close-ups of head of him/her

Below are two for sure hens. The brown one is for sure 8 going on 9 months and is smaller than the one in question. The other hen is much smaller than both although
same age as the one in question. I would guess she is half the size..

Close-ups of both hens for comparison.Oldest hen first then the small one.

Finally all three out visiting the ducks.
One in question in the foreground on the left (grey and white one)

thats all I have. If anybody see's a gender please let me know as otherwise I'm off to buy another Tom tomorrow.

I think he is a Tom
Like I said earlier in this thread I took a recording out of gobbling and played it. The hens just listened intently and quietly but this one started really carrying on but did not gobble back. It became quite agitated and very very red.

Chicken pickin could you elaborate on your choice please. I'm new to this so insight will help.

The snoods are as I described in the earlier post male having the wider base and tapered to the tip and the hens snood is the same from base to tip. The male has a much larger dewlap, and the hens dewlaps are very small. The male has many large caruncles where the hens have less and smaller caruncles. His size is also larger than the other 2 hens, Im guessing his legs are also thicker.
You also said his snood elongates down past his beak. Only Toms elongate their snood like that hens snoods stay the same and don grow with their mood.

This is just what I see I could be wrong but I do think he looks like a Tom with these new pics included.

Does his face change from pink to red and also to blue? Hens do not turn blue.

Yes it definitely changes from flesh pink to bright red. I have never seen his face turn blue. I did think I would have seen some sort of strutting and gobbling by now. What would happen if another Tom was added to the group, would they fight? Is he at the age to turn blue and what causes him to do that?
Below is a pic from 2 months ago and he is on the right and sorta shows his leg size compared to the older hen on the left. She looks a bit bigger because she was closer to the camera. The wee hen is on the perch.

He is a Tom
Thank you chicken pickin. I agree that it appears he is a "Tom" Especially after this morning. This morning is very sunny. I opened the barn door to let in lots of air. I played the gobbling audio file again. I came back in about 1/2hr later and the turkey was standing there with his snod hanging below the beak line again and puffed up and fanned it's tail. I got a horrible pic because it focused on the mesh. But you can see the snod was retracting back up but you can see the outline of the fan tail and maybe the puffed feathers. If not for this display today , now I am leaning to your suspicion on a Tom. Another thing nobody has mentioned is the presence of those possible spurs starting on the legs. The hens do not have them at all. What do you see from this pic.Think it does confirm a Tom.

100% Tom

I can hardly believe it but this morning one of my turkey who I questioned the gender, reacted to the playing of a turkey gooble recording. Minutes ago I was just in the barn with them and some fire trucks and ambulances screamed by. Well darned if it didn't puff up, fan its tail, snod came way out and gobbled like mad. So I guess I do have a Tom (jake) after all. darn.I even took a picture but like usual my camera froze and did not save the pic. I was excited I had photographic proof he was strut'n his stuff. The sirens really set him off so next time I hear them I'll try and get a pic. The ambulance station is only 500ft from my house so will happen.

Thanks again for everyone that put there 2 cents in.
