Twilight Addiction

I wondered if I was the only one who got down in the dumps when I was done with the last one. I just felt so... so... empty.

I didn't know they were having a TwiCon in Orlando!! Do they have a website for that location? Wonder if it'll make it up further North on the East coast.

I work in a bookstore so let me give you all another series to get hooked on that is a lot like Twillight, but funny at the same time.

Try the Sookie Stackhouse southern vampire series by Charlaine Harris. The first book is "Dead Until Dark". Then there is the HBO series, True Blood. I just started watching that, after reading the books, and its good! Even hubby likes it and he doesn't know anything about the books. ENJOY!

Bear in mind that the Sookie Stackhouse books are a lot more mature in nature! They are not something I would want my 13-year old reading, although I might let the 16-year old (but only after discussing the fact that they may offend her).

I found the books to be a bit of a disappointment to tell the truth. I read them because I read everything before my children read or see movies.

I thought the stories jumped much too far flung and no 17 or 18 years lives a normal life like the one depicted. There wasn't enough respect for the parents, the books left Bella as more adult and sensible than a 17 year old is and left her parents looking like bumbling fools. I have read several interviews by the author and her story about how the books were written is questionable. I have no belief in the fact they were written originally with a high school girl in mind as the heroine.

I am afraid the fast paced market for most book is a throw away readership and a disposable book neither meant to last very long. Well thought out and carried out literature is rarely found these days. Mass markets for quick reads and blazing trails make quick money and then they move on to the next craze and rage.

Mrs. Meyer could have done so much more with the characters and the story lines. I found it disappointing that the books look down on real parental guidance. One thing for sure - the teens in the books are indeed fictional.

Check out Laurell K Hamilton also ... Though only if you are over 18 .. They are very sexual... But there are like 16 or more that are out right now, plus she has this FAiry series that is awesome and there are like 18 books of that .. ANd IFC is making a movie " Anita BLake Vampire HUnter".. Like i said over 18 very sexual... But great stories amazing plots , hot men , and vampires and wereanimals.. Really GOOd series..

I highly doubt they will come any further north! I was hoping they'd come close to Pa cause there is no way I am driving to Florida and I am to scared to fly!!

my aunt was telling me there is one in July in Dallas. So I just did a google search and happened to find this one in Orlando.
