Twilight vs Harry Potter

I have to Agree - Harry Potter series is better. I have a lot of friends who would not let their kids read it - how sad because the underlying theme in all the books is love conquers evil! I think the potterbooks are really well written and have a lot of texture. The twilight books are interesting but flat in my opinion. -Anne Rice has depth and texture in her writing. Anne McCaffrey too in the Dragonrider series!
Just my humble opinion

Ooooh, Anne McCaffrey! I just finished reading one of her books. Fantasy and sci fi are basically all I read when it comes to reading for enjoyment.

I like both. Personally, since i'm only a teenager, I don't pay attention to how a book is written unless it stands out a lot. But I liked both the Harry Potter and Twilight series.

I totally agree with CityGirl. I haven't read the Twilight Series, but I have read A LOT about them and can practically tell you what happens in the storylines. I find it very sad that someone thinks its okay to give young girls the idea that mental abuse, which is basically what Edward did to Bella, is something you should be okay with! I mean, the guy snuck into her room and watched her sleep, kept her away from her friends, made her feel she was worthless without him, and made her think she had no option other than to be with him. Isn't that the epitomy of mental abuse?

Besides that, what I did read of the books I found to be poorly written and often gramatically incorrect. They just weren't any good in my opinion. If made to choose, I would choose Harry Potter every time. All though, I do think its rediculous that they are continuing with the movies when the characters are supposed to be 16-17 and the actors are a lot older than that, and look it.

They had to push back a movie when they guy playing dumbledor died about 1/2 way thru. I don't think they can swap them all out in the last movie for new kids and not have a boycott. I believe they're 18-19, I know Emma Watson just turned 18 a few weeks ago.

REALLY? I could have sworn they were older than that! I've basically grown up with the movies, so I guess it just feels like they should be so much older. I wouldn't want them to swap the actors out though. That would be dumb.

There was a story about the actor who played Ron when he turned...18 I think it was. He bought an ice cream truck! LOL. Apparently he had always thought it would be cool to be an ice cream man as a kid, so he made himself one. I always thought that was hilarious!

Only reason I remembered that was I loved the dress she wore in the interview the next day, some of the paperrizi were lying on the sidewalk trying to snap a picture up her dress, on the way out to dinner, which wasn't illegial now that she was 18.

I am so excited for the opening of the movie on July 15th! I am making my DH take me to it with my infant in tow! I can not wait!!!!

I won't read the twilght book they sound really dumb. harry potter though is so cool I have read all seven books at least twice
