Walking around is fine since he is by himself.
You don't want anyone else messing with that though.
It looks like he might not have aborbed everything up and closed just yet.
It should heal with time.

Great...I couldn't tell in the picture but if he's closed up then he should be fine that little piece will dry up and shrivel off on its own.
