I have a 3 month old AM cockerel who was doing great and looked great.
Friday he started limping. Saturday morning he was a little better. He was dusting when I saw him yesterday.
Today I went out to open the pen and let the youngsters out in the yard for a while. I looked at him and he was puffy, there's feathers missing on one side of his face near his eye and it's swollen shut and I swear it didn't look like this friday, but his beak is twisted. It's like something grabbed him and turned his face. The beak has never looked like this that I noticed, but today it really showed up to where I chased him down and took a look. I hold these birds all the time. I have no idea when this happened, but would have noticed it when I checked him out on friday. I spent a lot of time with them that day.
How can this just happen? Has anyone had one that just ended up like this at 3 months? I'm heartbroken. I love this little guy and have no idea what happened. He's following me around with the other two from that hatch, but he just doesn't look like the same bird.
