honeypie and mcgill are pampered, 'free range' backyard buff orpington chickens, who don't like to be cooped up during the day, but at night put themselves to sleep in their eglu (which will be given to their new owner(s), along with the attached run). i will also be providing a 50lb bag of organic layer feed. they are each 3 years old, and i raised them from the time they were 2-day old chicks.

they are both pretty friendly birds, although honeypie can get a bit territorial at times, and might try to nip your feet when you clean her eglu (nothing major). it is her turf after all :) but she's not the type that will chase you around the yard and prevent you from using your own living space.

they both tend to cluck a bit after laying an egg, but are generally relatively quiet. they each lay large brown eggs on a fairly regular basis.

their new owner will promise to let them live out their days in comfort and security, and promises to never cull them, even after their laying days are over. some periodic updates/pictures would also be greatly appreciated.

if interested, please reply here or send me a personal message for more information. thanks for looking!

Hi, are you still looking for a home for the girls? I may be able to help you. I have room for them with my birds. I have uncaged birds in the SFV and have been looking to add Buff Orps. I sell eggs but am not opposed to having the girls around into their old age.

hi, everyone! sorry i did not update this thread sooner, but i did manage to find a very lovely home for my girls, and i will be able to visit them any time i want, so i am very happy about it.

thanks so much for your offers of assistance, and i hope you find what you are looking for.
