Rehoming. Pick up in Fannin County, GA Two 40 week old splash (carry the blue plumage gene) bantam Cochin roosters, half brothers Axel and Dane. They are really competing for that group of hens who already have too many roosters in charge. Funny how chickens have such a family resemblance. Axel is the son of my head rooster and Dane with his more compact comb is the son of a lower rank rooster. Too many cooks in this kitchen already! They were hatched and raised by a broody hen so they are not as keen to be picked up as my older roosters, but they are both super sweet, non-human aggressive. One or both. Never any disease in these flocks so very healthy boys. Just too much chaos with six roosters in that group! Their parents came direct from Cackle Hatchery and have wonderful foot feathering. They are used to being with larger hens as that group is mostly LF Easter Eggers...and they keep them mostly fertile, too.
These bantam Cochins are the best tempered bunch of roosters we've ever had and that's saying something because we have only bred from easygoing males and have had some fabulous ones over the past 19 years. Hey are in cages in a couple of pics because they had a minor tussle today and needed time-out, LOL. Usually, they get along great. Either or both.
