Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone could offer me some insight on what killed my chickens.
One day ago my rooster started acting lethargic, didn't want to eat, and was having green diarreah, and he was keeping one eye closed. I went to the farm store and gave Tetroxy and put an eye ointment in his eye. I thought he was doing better since he started to open his eye. His eye has a cloud over top of it. Not like in mereks disease when the iris changes color.
The rooster had no weezing, sneezing, discharge, limping, swollen anything.
So,this morning I find him laying in the rain. I gave him more antibiotic and kept him quiet. He died later in the day. :-(
Same morning my RIR pullet dies. She had been losing feathers and wasn't laying eggs and what she did lay were wierd mishapen eggs with weak shells. I assumed, stupid me, she was molting.
This morning I see her laying alone. Shortly later she died.
She did not have diarreah and only got lethargic this morning.
I cant figure this out!!!!
Nothing nuerological like neck twisting. No joint pain, swelling, respiratory infection signs...no leasions.
I have narrowed it down to MS or Mereks, but, they eye thing throws me off.
Any ideas would be awesome.
