Hello everyone! In march, I picked up 3 baby ducklings, two khaki Campbells and one pekin! The pekin is the sweetest thing ever, and so are my khakis, but they don't like to cuddle as much as the Pekin does. ANYWAYS! I recently found out that my one Khaki Campbell is a boy from the green on his head, and his tail feathers! The other khaki Campbell is a girl! The pekin however, I thought was a girl for the longest time because she/ was so sweet and didn't develop the tail features even though he/she is 2 weeks older then my khakis. Now, I am starting to see a little curl starting to form on his tail. In addition to that, whenever my pekin is the only one in the water, my male khaki stands above the water and really bites his head feather and it looks so painful! I am not quite sure how to fix this problem. Do I add one or two more girls to my flock? or will I have to get rid of a drake (I really don't want to do that because they're my babies, but I will if I have to) Any advice is welcome! Thank you!

To have a good ratio you need a lot more hens. That said your pekin is a large breed while the khaki is a very small breed. If that pekin is a male you may want to rehome either him or the two others and get females closer in size to whichever drake you choose to keep.

That or set up 2 pens and STILL add at least 4 hens to the pekin AND another 3 to the khaki.

I lived for three years with two drakes. I added more hens and did everything everyone told me. They eventually got along, sort of, but took out their issues on the other guy's females. I finally got rid of one. Save yourself the frustration and get rid of the larger drake now. The Khaki is only protecting his female. The Pekin's size could be an issue with the female Khaki and he may not be as sweet when there isn't a more dominant drake with him.
