We have two muscovy ducks laying in one nest box.. There are about 20 eggs so far and we took some out earlier when the temps got too low at night. Anyways, will they both try and sit on the nest? I really don't think the box is big enough for the both of them and I read some things about ducklings getting crushed under them when this happens. Any way to get one of them to move to the other nesting box? Maybe blocking the entrance to the box once the first one goes in and lays her egg? Or would this freak them out..?

When I had two hens, they shared a nesting box. mine never went broody at the same time though. Personally I would either do two boxes or broody break one. Don't take my advice along though.

How would I broody break one or get her to lay in the other box?

Some ducks are very stubborn. I added more nesting boxes and still many of my girls choose the same favorite boxes to lay their eggs.
