I've let my two broody ducks give it a go at sharing a nest and they botched it big time, ill never do that again. Most of the eggs died and they have a handful left that are all out of sync for hatching days.

These are two rare species duck and I so don't want both of them out of action for as long as it could take to raise the few viable babies. Is it horrible to kick one off the nest at this late stage - they are due soon. I only want one mamma looking after one or two babies, not two.

If it is okay to do so, what is the most graceful way to remove her?

Thankyou for your time!

I'm not a duck pro, but I do believe in respecting our birds and the choices they make when adhering to their instincts. I'm for letting these little ladies complete their tandem mission.
