I have a trio of RIR that are seperated in a pen to themselves. I check eggs everyday. On several occasions I have went and checked and found two eggs in the nest, which is correct since I have two hens. But.... I sometimes will also find two "soft" eggs, with no hard shell on the floor of the pen along with two eggs in the nest. Can anyone tell me what is going on?!?!

how old are the hens? sometimes early in their laying chickens will lay a leather egg, or an egg with no shell. Could be they aren't getting enough calcium. They shouldn't be laying two eggs a day though, that seems odd. What type of feed are they on?
