Two Eggs in One Day?

it happens often at my house i have two barred rocks and they are sisters if one skips a day the other one does too then the next day i will have 3 or 4 eggs rather than 2. this happens about once a week here.

I have 2 green eggers, (still not sure if one is an arucana) but I have gotten 3 green eggs before. Just once though. I read where hens can lay more than one a day.
