Fluff Ball our Ameraucana hen suddenly started limping so bad she could not keep up with the rest of her flock. We put her in a different coop and then in about 2 weeks let her out again because she did not get any better. Then in about a month a Wyandotte hen, Peekaboo, got the same limp. Their behavior is normal, they are on organic layer pellet, and they are both a little over one year old. They have would shaving bedding and coops big enough for about 8 chickens. We have no idea how this happened and we have done no treatment so far. We would like to treat it ourselves.

Anything unusual about the way she’s holding her leg or foot?

Is she/ they laying?

lower belly look swollen?
new birds in your flock?

Foot pads without bumbles?

Sorry for all the questions.

Pictures or a video of her/them walking would be especially helpful here.

X2 Photos of the feet and legs (bottom of feet too) and a video of the walking would be helpful. (videos need to be upload to youtube or similar platform then provide us a link)

Thank you for your interest...
There is nothing unusual about the way they are holding their foot, and they are both still laying. WE only have two new birds in the flock but they were hatched and raised on our farm. No swelling is apparent and feet look fine. I will attempt to upload a video tomorrow with a link, provided I can figure out how to do that!

You can post a video on YouTube, then post a link here. Do they hold the legs up or put partial weight on them? Do they drag the foot? Do you have high roosts or fences they jump from? Do you have a rooster? Were they vaccinated for anything?
