Don't forget pygmies, too! They can't wrap their little mouths around a person's leg, but I bet they could kill a chicken! And then there are the beautiful coral snakes, who also, fortunately, have little mouths! We saw 2 in one day (!) one time on the bike track in Jax where we were walking.

Snake number 3 today! This is getting absolutely crazy! My son got this one too. I imagine there has got to be a den or a nest around somewhere. I can't imagine what the rest of summer is going to be like if this is the case. A snake a day is WAY too many!

Any ideas for reducing pit vipers from hanging around? I know the ditch does not help at all. From what I understand the Snake Away product does not work well on pit vipers. Also keep in mind I can only put something down that won't harm the free ranging chickens.
