Two legged predator/pest got 5 Buff Orpington hens and 1 New Hampshire Red rooster Sunday night/Monday morning (June 10 pm to June 11 am) out of my coop after a rain. I'm in southwest Warren County, IA.

Due to the rain and wet gravel road I could see where he/she/they parked on the road at the end of my driveway, got the chickens out of the coop, and quickly drove north leaving ruts in the gravel road from turning and tearing out in their escape.

Just warning those in the area to be on the lookout.

Of course, if you have any information as to the whereabouts of the chickens please let me know. They were definitely pets to us.

No, a four legged predator didn't get them. They were closed up in a nice, tight, new(er) coop.

Thanks.

That would really burn me up! Sorry that happened to you. We have a baby monitor in the coop so we hear what goes on at night in there and the sound picks up from the next coop over, too. Hope you find out who did it and maybe get your birds back.

I hope you find your birds and the thieves get flogged repeatedly.

I have a cctv recording system on my pens and home plus an electric fence and a few guns. I hope i never have a "chicken-napper" come to my place, for their own safety.

... a person stole the chickens?
By golly if they had stolen my pet indoor home chickens, someone would have been neutered/spayed right there, right then and have the police called on them (I don't think I'd neuter/spay anyone, but by golly, they'd get a kick right in the you-know-where area!)

ESPECIALLY the pet chickens in the house!
And major butt kickin' for stealing my cheekins!

:( The things people do...
