Don't hate the creative! I might even fall victim to that much of a temptation. MMMM, muscadine shine is a real treat. I'll be danged if I would ever set it out for a lousy thief. In Iran they cut of a thief's hand for stealing. If someone needs that bad I wouldn't mind to give them eggs. Chickens...NO, but eggs, all day long.
I would leave a note stating something of this. "I placed a camera and got your picture. We can do this one of two ways. I can have you arrested and if I catch you out here, you may be shot accidentally because I thought you were a predator. OR....you can come to my door tomorrow and tell me you would like some eggs and produce. I will gladly give all you need. Who knows, maybe we can work something out and you can help around the garden and coop and take whatever you need. I never want a person to go hungry, unless that person is choosing not to try to help themselves. Have a nice night and smile big for the camera!"
