Hello all!

My partner and I have kept chickens for quite a while, but I'm a federal worker and now that I am back in the office full time we are looking to move closer to my work. However we would be unable to keep chickens in all of the areas we are looking at. We have already found good homes for our hens but are left with two roosters. We got them both as babies in July of 2024 and I believe they are mixed but resemble New Hampshire Reds.

One is more aggressive and the other is more docile but that may just be the pecking order since it's just them now. They are both as good around people as I've ever seen a rooster, they may peck you here and there or square up but they've never chased or attacked us or anything. They do love to jump on you and roost on your head or back if you bend over! They like being around people and have done really well around submissive hens.

They don't necessary need to go together, if you have a flock that just needs one rooster thar would be fine. We are willing to donate a good amount of money as well as supplies to make sure they are well taken care of. We'd like to hopefully be able to visit them at some point in the future if able, or atleast get pictures every now and then! We just want to make sure they go to a good home that will work with them and not abuse or immediately kill them if they arent behaving properly. We are willing to drive and drop them off to pretty much any state on the eastern half of the US.

Please reply with any questions!

Do you still have them? If so it might be a good idea to see if anyone local wants them. Craigslist, Social Media, and 4-H clubs are all good ways to do this.:)

Beautiful, they are like twin brothers!
Could try putting ads at feed store, "pet stores", or Facebook/social media. Share this helpful article with the new home so they are equiped to handle any issues:

After realizing the need for clarity, I decided to create an article for those of you who have roos with behavior issues, those thinking about adding one to your flock, or if you are just curious since the issue is natural to come up for each of us in even the most docile of males. It is...

Wish you luck!!
