has anyone had this???
I have three two month old chicks in a dog crate for a brooder, it's raining and cold here right now, and their coop is not 'quite' done yet... grr... so, they are in the living room...
and, every night about 8-30, they go on the perches, and take turns jumping down... THUMP... like a contest...
then they run around to the back of the crate, get on the lower perch, hop to the upper perch, and HOP again!!!
it is hysterical!!!
the poor other three are below in a smaller/shorter brooder, they don't have raised perches... so they miss out on all the fun!!!
but, alas, out of six babies, I seem to have three roos... so they don't get along in the one crate, too crowded for that much testosterone...
they are also the HUGEST chicks I have ever raised! they are seriously HUGE already! and started crowing at 7 weeks!
that is WAY before any I had before... I wonder why???
thanks for reading, I'd love to hear any stories of contesting chick games!!!
