Two month old pullet. What breed though?

He’s my weird EE girl. No muff or beard. Not all white like yours but creamy colored! No eggs yet but am hoping they are pretty! C02EA1BD-BD4F-42EA-9F83-E7B3A4AC9017.jpeg 62E1A3FB-C02C-4934-9DD8-7BC26A37DCF2.jpeg 6A91DAFF-8EEF-4419-8D4B-A46BFE4F7268.jpeg

Hatchery said easter egger but looks nothing like the 4 other easter egger chicks I bought. Could this be a different breed?

When a hatchery sells "Easter Eggers," they mean the chicken lays blue or green eggs. But the hatchery does not care at all about appearance--so sometimes they look alike, and sometimes they do not.

(A few "Easter Eggers" do lay brown eggs. The hatcheries try for mostly blue or green, but usually don't go to the effort of making sure their stock is quite pure for the necessary gene.)

If they carry 1 blue and 1 brown you get green. If they get 2 blues you get blue. The occasional brown layer (2 browns) pops up too.

Not quite.

There is one gene that controls whether an egg is blue or not-blue.

2 blue egg genes gives blue eggs.
1 blue and 1 not-blue gene gives blue eggs.
2 not-blue genes give not-blue eggs.

But those not-blue eggs might be white or any shade of brown.
And those "blue" eggs might be actually blue, or they might look green because of having brown on them as well.
