Two more chicks today!

Two more chicks today! They both are moving and seem happy but one of them has something dangling from her backside. The string is long and then and seems to still have the remainder of the yolk all attached to it. I'm leaving it alone for now to see if it detached on its own. I assume that's right because that's what my husband said and he seems to have a good instinct about the birds even though he's new to it too. They're so cute though!

Your husband is exactly right. That's the umbilical cord. It will indeed dry up and fall off on it's own and attempting to remove it could hurt the chick

Funny story, we though the one next to her had zipped but when I went to remove the shells I realized the top of one of the other eggs had gotten stuck on the top of the egg next to it.
