I might not, but others may.
And besides, chicks are different from humans.
Dogs like it when you rub their tummy, but I surely don't!

I bet they like the snuggles, except when they want to play, which is similar to trying to snuggle a hyper toddler.

Most birds love a good under-feather belly scratch or back of the neck scratch.

How can I encourage them to walk? They run around fine in their brooder or whatever, but when I take them outside or something, not so much!

It is a big scary world when you are only 3 inches tall. They'll be fine with some practice. Give them a bunch of things to hide under, like little islands of cover, and they may be more inclined to explore.
