Wondering if this behaviour could be an indication of gender due to increasing hormone levels. My other two chicks are not doing this.

The brown chick and yellow mohawk chick are the ones starting to challenge one another.

Would love to know sex of all four chicks if anyone has any idea. :-)

I asked this, too. The answer was it is more of an indication of personality than gender, if you mean the chest bumping and posturing to each other. Now that they're older I see our pullets doing this.

Hi, thanks for your reply, Yes am referring to the behaviour where they rise chest to chest as though about preparing to step into boxing ring. ;-) Wouldn't surprise me as all creatures & their young fight at times but is always same two at it while others try to het out of their path. Also funnily enough the one we suspected as a too due to being much bigger than others is acting docile while the pint size yellow drizzle is jumping up & down on the sides of the plastic tub we have them in. This early flight may be a part of the breed however but again seems out of place as he/she the only one displaying it.
