I have a roo named Silver. A bantam mix who had a glorious large single comb. Well do to the low temperatures his comb has gotten frost bitten. What do I do about it?
Question 2: I have more than one roo. I don't want to get rid of any due to sentimental reasons. Could I build them "bachelor pad"? Or do I need to house them separately? I have three.

1. Nothing. The badly damaged areas will dry out, wither up and fall off on their own without intervention. You can use some straight betadine to speed that process along, but even that is not necessary. A mild case of frostbite may just cause some slight skin sloughing. Again, not necessary to do anything about. An application of a petroleum product to the comb can prevent frostbite from happening on your big-combed varieties.

2. A bachelor pad is a great idea if you don't mind the noise. They can be housed together and don't need to be separated from each other. A great many roos live out their days this way.

Good luck.
