first , I have 7, 4 or 5 year old full size cochin hens. I let them out most days to free range in the yard. Later i saw one that seemed to be dusting herself, which they do often now that they are in molt. Later i went out and she was in a different spot but on her side. I went over to check her and she couldn't stand. She came out of the hutch on her own steam and the only thing i can figure is that when she came out of the hutch she did something to her leg. I have her in a small dog house right now . What i am concerned a lot about is that she holds it up and will bend it a little but does not move her toes on that foot. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to try to help her. I thought of a sling but I am not sure or whether it should be splinted as I can't really tell where the problem is in the leg or the hip. Any suggestion would be appreciated. I just hope she can be helped. Thanks donna I will put my other problem in a different post
