Two Questions About Oyster Shell

I picked up some wall hanging planters at an auction for cheap so I hung it on the run fence with a rebar twist tie and drilled 3 small holes in the bottom of the planter. Did the same for the grit on the other side of the run.

OH EM GEEE! I absolutely love this idea! Something I will keep my eye out for at the thrift/flea/antique stores...would also be a great way to give treats!!!

I place a feed tin (galvanized, round, low sides, available at TSC and similar stores) with both granite grit and oyster shell. I place it under the hanging feeder to minimize them walking through it. Works great. They pick what they need.

I mix in egg shells (rinsed, air dried and crushed) with the OS when I've got them.
