Two questions for gun control people

Dennis...do you seriously believe that there is one person in this country (who is not in a mental institution) that did not know that. As for knee jerk reaction, I will personally pay for your plane ticket to CT if you will stand in front of Mrs Pozner whose son Noah was riddled with 11 high powered rounds from an assault rifle and tell her it is all just a "knee jerk reaction".

And if he had used 6 shooters what laws would we be contemplating ? Would you be willing to come tell my friend, who just the other day had her 16 year old stabbed to death, that it was just knives so get over it ?

Edward....I think that after posting that long, irrelevant article it must be time for you good night toddy. I really think you must be working too hard.
I expected a little deeper thought from such an esteemed gentleman as yourself. Was it really irrellevant? I thought I did good.

I can not understand why you can not understand that even if what you say is true, it is not relevant to the issue of the ability to reasonably regulate the 2nd amendment. If it makes you feel better then why don't you pick out the weapons you would like regulated. Fighter planes and nuclear weapons only?

Old Guy, I am not sure what you are agreeing to disagree about. The act has nothing to do with gun control. Simple as that.

X2

Are you suggesting that if the shooter hadn't died, then people wouldn't upset that 20 children were shot in an elementary school?

The second amendment gives you the right to own guns. The laws of the country define what types of guns. There's no deprivation of rights, only wants.
In short... NO What I am saying is despite the horrible tragedy the shooting was and the compassion I feel for the parents (I am a parent) this is not the way to react on the national level by using the occasion to divide the country on the 2nd amendment. We should be focusing on making schools safer by security measures like we do with other important VIP's. When there is nobody to seek justice on we as a people tend to make society the responsible party when in reality it was solely the shooters fault by the poor decision he made.

Wow who knew I could come to a Chicken forum to debate Guns. My personal feelings are, the liberal left are out of they **** minds! Since when did this country ever allow the Government to tell us what we can and can't do? We are not in the UK, or the rest of the world. We are the USA! Our government is unlike any other in the world for a reason, freedom. The one thing that guarantees us our freedom and right to free speech is our right to bear arms. It doesn't matter what I need from day to day. If we lived according to only what we needed, we wouldn't have 95% percent of the items in our homes. They were needed when we won our independence from Britian, we will need them when the next invader invades, be it our own government or another Hitler. and you better believe having an unarmed Sociaty of civilians makes that task a thousand times easier!

You don't have laws that restrict your freedom for the greater good?

How about the PATRIOT Act? Drivers' licences, laws against theft and murder, speed limits ..................

Dennis...I am afraid that you just "jumped the shark" and would be very surprised if anyone takes you seriously. You should at least put LOL after your comments.
