Two questions from newbie:)

This coop looks so fantastic! I love it and the enthusiasm in your 7 year old. Too cute.

One thing I did notice is that it seems you have chicken wire on your coop. I've read that any predator can rip straight through chicken wire in an instant. To protect your chickens from predators you need to use hardware cloth which is much stronger. On another post someone recommended that the person simply add hardware cloth over the chicken wire.

However - if you are locking them in every night, this may not be as big an issue for you.

Adding hardware cloth would probably be a good idea. They are locked in the wood section each night (their little door by the ramp locks from the inside of the coop) but I'd rather be safe than sorry. A few years ago we heard there was an opossum in the area and I have seen an owl close by before.
