I have 13 chicks in a brooder who are all the same age. Last night one of the chicks looked weak and not able to stand for very long or walk without wobbling over. Sometimes she spread a wing or both out and will just lay on the litter with her head up. The rest of the chicks are going about their business the same and look healthy. Has anyone seen this or have an idea what might be happening to it?

Yes this is normal.
Get vitamins in the water for the chick. Sometimes all the chick needs is a little vitamin boost to get its system back to normal (that's al mine mine needed). You can use poly vi sol (no iron) baby vitamins. Or get some vitamins at the feed store. The chick is still brand new, so give it a vita boost and time.
Sometimes it is as simple as that. Vitamins do really do wonders in chicks!
Please keep updating us on the condition.
Good Luck with your chickie and don't give up.

I'll give it a shot. Thank you.

This morning, before I left for work, she looked the same. No better, no worse. She seemed weak, but still quite alive.

What do you have the chicks on....you mentioned litter? What type?
Just a note, don't forget chickens do that crazy little thing called dust bathing and sun worshiping. They practice it to even when there is nothing to dust bathe in. LOL

Keep us posted on it's condition.

I have them on pine shavings. They got some vitamins in there water last night. At first I thought the chick in question was moving around a little better but when I checked them this morning she was still stumbling around and falling over. I've seen her drink, but I haven't seen her eat.

Thank you for the post and the info. We have 6 new chicks and one is also acting 'drunk' and isn't able to stand or walk for very long. We are trying the vitamins and boiled egg now. Fingers crossed that it will do the trick
