I have a hen that has an upper respiratory infections I have Tylan 200 injections but can I give this to her orally and if so how much do I give? Or can I just put meds in the water to treat the whole flock being she was with them a few days b4 I noticed she was sick..

It is best to treat only the bird who is showing symptoms. What symptoms does she have? Sneezing every few minutes, congestion, and shaking the head can be signs of infectious bronchitis virus, and Tylan will not help. If there are bubbles in an eye, thick or sticky eye drainage, or swelling around an eye or the face, that might be mycoplasma or MG. That might respond to Tylan. Do you know an approximate weight on the hen? Dosage is 0.1 ml for every 2 pounds of weight 3 times a day for 5 days.

She's sounds congested when she breathes like a cracking sound. She has alil drainage from her eyes and nose also.I have VetRx that I haven't used on her yet.She weights about 2 1/2 pds

Sometimes it is hard to know which respiratory disease you are seeing without testing. I would probably try the tylosin or order it so that you will have it in 3 days if she gets worse. Another in the flock may get sick as well. I don’t like to use antibiotics either, but it would be good to have it available.
