If she has a virus, such as infectious bronchitis that mainly causes frequent sneezing, antibiotics will not affect the disease. It will run it’s course over about a month. ILT is a more severe respiratory virus with worse symptoms. MG, or mycoplasma can be similar to infectious bronchitis symptoms in mild cases, or it can cause swelling around the eye and sinus infection. If you treat again with Tylan, I would use it at least 3 times a day for 3-5 days. Here is a good link about diseases, and the 4 diseases above are listed if you want more info:

thank you so much. I checked out the page. she doesn't have anything but the cough/sneeze. she eats well, drinks, and no diarrhea. No discharge from nostrils or eyes. we have had major temp changes here right now and lots of rain/snow. I'll see how she does for the next few days. :highfive:

When there is an outbreak of infectious bronchitis, usually it will affect many in the flock over days and weeks. MG may just affect 1 or 2 birds. So that is one way to tell them apart. Testing is available, called a PCR test, by contacting your state vet or poultry lab, and this commercial lab also will do a mycpolasma poultry swab test:

You can give the 3 day injections in the breast muscles, alternating each side each day. There's nothing stating that you cant do it either way. Injecting into the breast is the quickest way for the tylan to take effect.

Hey Dawg!

I know your up to date on Tylan dosage, I am finding it hard to find a "professional' site for dose Tylan 50 and how many days.
I feel my silkie has Coryza from a wild bird. I can't keep them out. He has facial swelling and had wattle swelling. Now I see small clear bubbles in his eyes and puffy eyes. I think he's had it for about 3 weeks. I've tried Duramycin and Pen G. Nothing better except he runs faster away from me. If I let it run it's course, and he gets himself better, he'd be immune. I ordered Tylan 50 injectable (Made in Mexico) no script needed. Thanks
