Tylan 50 Injectables question

Here's a good thread which addresses your issue specifically: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/554991/antibiotics-for-bumblefoot

No disrespect to anyone that posted in that thread, but none of them list a credible reference. I've only treated bumble once, and the vet had me give Baytril. Another person I know was told to use SMZ/TMP for 14 days. Probably best to google avian medicine bumblefoot and see what the most commonly used drug is.

If you decide to use penicillin, google that dose, 'cause I think most of the recommendations I have seen here are wrong. Also goggle procaine toxicity in birds.

I just want everyone to know that I followed this advise and used the Tylan 50 on 2 of my Hens at the same time. One died within the hour from the medicine. Use it knowing there is a risk. The one that did not die, I stopped using it and gave her Tetracycline in her water and she seams fine now. It was not easy to see the beautiful Lady go that way. Goodbye Cinnamon!

I had a silkie with respiratory infection. She looked slugish in the morning but no other symptoms. In the afternoon she was coughing and sneezing and seemed to gag too but was still able to walk around and be somewhat alert. I brought her inside the house and gave her water with probiotics and vitamins and gave her Tylan 50 1/4cc orally and 1 hour later she was dead! How reliable is this Tylan 50 really?

I bought tylan-50 tonight to treat my sick chickens. They r sneezing, shaking their heads, N yes deirrah. Now how much should I give, n how many times a day, n for how many days.

Oh I forgot my chickens r 4/5 months old. They r salmon faberolles, blue white black buff n splash cochins, silver n golden laced Wyandotte's, domenecks, light brahmas, n speckled Sussex.
