Tylan Injectable In food?

Those are opportunistic bacteria that can be secondary infections during a respiratory diseaseor air sacculitis. They (E.coli and Klebsiella) are both gram negative bacteria that Tylan would not treat. They are found in the bowel and Klebsiella is also common on skin. An antibiotic that would treat those might be Bactrim or Baytril, and Baytril is banned in layers, although some vets may still prescribe it. Your vet would be the one to ask about that.

Thank you so much. I’m starting to calm down a little bit. Just sounded really scary. I was fully expecting infectious bronchitis. I am calling the vet that I like tomorrow.

On another thread, the OP posted that it is 2 strains of bacteria, one causing pneumonia, the other is e-coli. As I had said on the other thread, since they have 2 bacterial infections, they may need a stronger dose, or a broader spectrum antibiotic than Tylan. The vet should be giving the proper medications for the flock.

I am not sure. This vet is not very competent nor compassionate. I just told them to send over everything they had to the other vet that I know and trust.
Are they doing sensitivity testing? Sensitivity testing is when they see what antibiotics the bacteria are sensitive or resistant to.

I understand, and replied in the other thread. :D
