So we got this 1 white small egg from a Mix of ducks, chickens and quails. It hatched 4 weeks ago. Sweet as anything but everyone has bets on what he/she is. Thought if it was a quail it would be feather by now. The egg was smaller then a normal chicken egg, little bigger then a quail and pure white no speckles. Any thoughts

Welcome to BYC! :frow

That's a chicken chick, quiet clearly.

Aside from the physical attributes we are seeing none of those species will hatch at the same time as one another.. so your incubation period could easily have identified it at hatch.

From this angle it does look crested and bearded and like it may have dark skin. Usually 5 toes and feathered legs of Silkies are a dominant feature..

Handsome boy! :love

(wild arse guess according to his stance, being the only one to hatch, and the description of being sweet)

Hatched at day 19. Has 4 toes but a crest and feathered legs. We have him iin the house right now since at this time we only have ducks. They actually told us no chickens were in the bunch. Just ducks and quails. Which obviously he is neither😂. Hes gotten so use to us and our dogs Afraid to put him outside by himself.

It was either slightly developed (from improper storage/collection sometimes due to warm weathers) or your incubator was warmer than it should be as that is a full 2 days early for chicks to hatch. Possibly why nothing else hatched.

Thanks for sharing your mystery and adventure. Hope that baby continues to thrive and that you find him (or her) some friends of his own species before long! :fl

Thanks for the info. The funny thing was everything else hatched but they were all ducks. He/she was the only egg of her kind.😂
