Type of feed for ducks.

I have always fed my ducks layer feed for chickens. They eat a little dog food every chance they get and constantly free range. They seem to be healthy and happy.

I was told to have a bowl of oyster shells and grit out at all times for my duck is this true? I feed her flock raiser and she is 9 weeks

I've been feeding my ducks (now about 2 1/2 months old) New Country Organics (Countryside Organics) duck grower and several are getting "twisted" wing. From what I read, that is due to too much protein. I think it is 19%. I can't find a lower protein feed out there other than chicken layer feed and they're too young for that. Any suggestions?

Add dry oatmeal. The old fashioned kind, not the quick kind. I believe you can add up to 20% of their total feed but you might want to start a little slower. Mine did not like it at first but now they love it.
