I have built a chicken tractor and have used hardware cloth to enclose the run area. I live in the north east and am concerned about racoons digging underneath. It's a large chicken tractor, but I but large sturdy wheels on it so that I can move it around the yard. I am going to put wire underneath the tractor.
Can anyone tell me from experience what size mesh to use? I'm thinking the larger the better. So that poop doesn't get stuck to the mesh too easily. But I also want the mesh to be a sufficient enough deterrent.
Any comments would be helpful.
