Typing strange characters

When I begin typing - everything starts out right, then I begin to get these strange characters. Right now, I cannot read what I am typing. But, when I post it will clear up. ?? I am using a MacBook Air.

We're seeing a handful of users that are on Safari that are having this problem. We're looking into it!

Switching to source mode seems to help. It almost looks like it is switching characters sets or something (ascii <--> UTF)

Okay, trying source mode - works. At least I can see what I am typing.

FYI, our techs found the issue and hope to have a fix for the weird characters soon. It looks like it's only happening on certain versions of Safari.

I miss spell check. the icon at top of post are in BLk and white and some are missing. is this going to be the norm if so I'm going to have to buy a dictionary.

Look on the right in your toolbar, where it says "More", click on that and you'll get way more things to play with including spell check
