She laid #12 in it yesterday and has been sitting ever since. I am going to try to get a pic of her but have to be very careful. She is very leery of humans and flushed off the nest a couple of days ago when I walked by the playhouse. I think her mother (Royal Palm) had a spring fling with a wild tom last year. She hatched 4 of them and only the nesting hen made it. She is bred with my Royal Palm tom.
yeah I am going to leave her be. When the babies hatch I will open the door and herd them into the pen that my son and I are finishing up until her babies are able to fly up to roost.
I have used dog houses for winter shelter for pairs and trios, 4' square, with 4' high roosts outside for sunny days,
might be able to find more of those at home auctions and yard sales. As long as they are a bit over 2' square they should work. Price could be very right .
