Oh, I remember when that happened. My problem is small compared to what you went through.

Like you mentioned those electric heaters.

I bought one last year at walmart, a sunbeam, for $18. It heats up my room really well (too well) on those 50 - 60 degree nights my Floridian self cannot stand

When spring came I turned it onto the optional regular fan setting.... I haven't turned it off all year LOL! It is still going going going.. so I think the $18 was pretty worth it

Only problem here is we had started to get our cool weather, for about a week... then.... it got HOT again! 80 - 85 degree days and we have to keep running the ac

Our heat pump has been broken for (going on) 3 winters now. We just didn't have the money to get a new one until this year. I think the goal is to have it replaced in a few weeks! WooHoo! Then we can put the little electric heaters we use at night in the bedrooms away.
