Ugh my day was not so good

I went to school mostly in the 50's. I homeschooled my son (born 1975) til 8th grade, his choice; he wanted the social contacts. He is still one of those never-met-a-stranger people. Do not have any idea how he managed to tolerate the absurdities of the system in the 90's, but he did, and graduated. Now my DIL is a teacher, and things are obviously even more absurd. (I was the first homeschooler in my county, or more accurately, the first one who they recorded.)

I have to agree that it takes real maturity to survive and prosper in this system. 20 years ago I would have said, things get better in the adult world. Not even sure that is the case any more!

Reading the original posters writings on here. Just wanted to commend you on your maturity and objectivity. Way to go!!

What she said! I think you show tremendous maturity in recognizing they have a job to do, despite the negative consequences of their actions on you and your attempt to just go to school today! It's a pain, but in order to squash chaotic crud, they have to bug people without intent or malicious behavior.

I'm sorry it had to put a dent in your day, but- you need to get on gettin' on, because the world needs more mature, thinking, intelligent peeps like you and your bad self!

I just hope my girls like boys like you and not like the other vermin...

Sounds like you have some great teachers/principals and it sounds like you are a great kid, cuz you took it all in stride.
