UGH! She's killing them.... hope this will work, advice?

Well, seems like she has snapped out of her drama, either that or Mama Rock is really good at keeping her off the chicks. I can't tell which one is the Mean Mama any more, and a few hours after she escaped with everyone free ranging I still have all 5 chicks! So, she MAY have escaped lock down and the eventual stew pot....

OK so GREAT news. While the other eggs haven't hatched, my escapee crazy chicken is now mothering the chicks with the Mama Rock. I just saw her making the tent-thing for the babies and they were leaping from one Mama's back to the other

. So all is not lost, FINALLY her instinct kicked in.

What a great turnaround! Maybe she will only cause problems in future during actual hatching, 'cause she associates broken eggshells with eating eggs. Glad she seems to be doing well! A real relief!
