Ugh twins in my biggest egg, first hatch too

This is my flock, in the incubator! My first ever eggs, that I sent-away for. Only eight of them, they're Anconas. Now I see for sure on day 14 what I've been suspecting for a few days - there are two embryos in the biggest egg.

Can I even dare to hope one might survive? They're wiggling around like crazy in there. It's heartbreaking.

Oh wow--how special! No guarantees they'll make it, but hey--it's a worth a try, right? Let us know how things go with them. I'll be thinking good thoughts for the twins.

OK looking at a chicken development chart here it's possible that they're big enough that I'm seeing them bounce back and forth - head, feet, head, feet - against the inside of the egg. I'm just not sure!

How maddening this is. Two weeks left!

I did see somewhere a clip of a double yolker chicken egg hatching and both chicks survived! Just search double yolker chicks hatching, or something similar and it should come up! I know that they needed assistance, anyway hope they both survive!

I've hatched twins out of a chicken egg, both survived and are now 3 yrs old. I remember someone on here hatching duckling twins a few months ago but can't remember who it was. I'll be thinking happy hatching thoughts for your little ones!

Good luck with that egg- I just heard here in OZ a lady who had a double yolker with only one ebryo was a quitter after 10 days or so... It it so rare but still so amazing.
There was a lady here a while ago that had twins- Call ducks too if I remeber righly. Sadly the smaller one died after a few days.

I also got a double yolker in my first shipped eggs- I asked the lady if she had a goose the egg was so big- But mine did not even start to deveolp.
Didnt mean for this to sound negative...Just most cases I have heard dont turn out well- I would always at least try a double yolker in the bator- You just never know when luck is on your side.
