Whenever I go to poultry swaps or chicken shows I'm always attracted to bizzare and strange looking chickens... last week when I brought home a turken my whole family was telling me it creeped them out. I happen to think turkens are the cutest things on the planet next to silkies. I'm also recently obsessed with modern game bantams (super model legs!

) Personally I don't think breeds like rhode island reds are nearly as cute.
Does anyone else find them self always wanting chickens that most would call wierd and ugly? What are some other strange but cute looking birds people can think of?

show girls.. love them b/c of the nn silkie combo! (wish someone would make large showgirls!)
Taipans. love them b/c of the size, 3 ft tall at maturity and the upright stature is so strange, I gotta have them!
Hmm, I am obsessed with large chickens.. is that a problem?

I have been wanting show girls forever because I LOVE silkies and turkens!
I used to have a shamo hen which has upright stature like that. I also find I like strange looking rabbits... I have been wanting an angora because their fluffy fur makes me think of silkies.

I also have a hairless chinese crested puppy, yes he is strange looking but I love him!

has a little hair on the end of his tail, fuzzy feet and his ears have hair along the edges with a mohawk on his head.
yes, ugly but adorable.

I have a very strange looking puppy due to my dauchund mating with a shih tzu... hes so scruffy looking we always say he looks like he needs to shave...

Show girls are pretty uglycute. their probably the next breed I want to get... also I think a frizzled silkie would be hilariously cute!

I was leafing thru my APA Standard of Perfection when I ran across a picture of a Shamo. Weird looking bird. Like a cross between a hawk and a chicken, that had a run-in with an automatic feather plucker. Would definitely be a point of interest in any poultry competition!

Where do you get your Taipans from? Or do you breed them?
I've been looking into Malays, Taipans, Shamos, etc. I wish there were some Standard Modern Game breeders in the US.......
