This is just a heads-up of what a farm gate can do to a horse. The gate is an American Farm 12 footer that's been in use for 4 years with never a problem until today. There was a bolt with a rough edge that I'd never noticed before. I actually saw this happen.

TG for friends. One is a surgeon. Fortunately it is a very clean wound and Billy is easygoing. Heck, Billy never even lifted his head out of the feed bucket while it was stitched.

Needless to say, I checked every gate on the place to make sure there were no more bolts like this one.

When I was younger we had a rescue horse that my aunt had spend 2K on just trying to get him healthy again. His name was Sunny. He was happy and healthy it took about 5 months. Then one day we went out to feed in the morning and Sunny was dead. It looked like he got spooked, jumped up on the post that held the gate and it went right threw his heart. Very sad!!!

Always a good idea to check gates and fencing every few weeks. I see people use the T post around here all the time for there horse fencing and I just know what they can do to a horse that is on the move. Im glad that Billy is going to be okay!!!!
