Uh, is someone ready for lockdown a little early?

I hope he makes it, now. He's still got some work to do with the bottom half, but I'm leaving the rest up to him. I would have been happy to let him handle it all, but after about 30 hours in the same position, I don't think he was going to get any further.

Update: he's wriggled out of the last piece of shell, kicked it aside, and is wiggling around, stretching, cheeping back and forth with his buddy in there who has pipped internally, and getting fluffy! His belly button is a little puffy, but it's not bleeding or oozing, it's just prominent. He hasn't fully woken up yet, but neither have I

Update: belly button has receded and is covered with a little scab. Lots of rolling around, getting brooder ready for transfer after he gets a a good full 24 hour rest and is up and moving! Took a quick pic while cleaning up egg leavings!

Three others have internally pipped. Other than monitoring for external pippage, these fellas are on their own, because that was TERRIFYING. LOL

Update: getting fluffy! Lots of napping while kicking the air (I believe he's happy to be able to finally use his feet!)

Sounds really good on the belly button. Getting that scab is a good thing. And what a precious little one, makes me want to kiss some duckling lips.

Your a nervous nelly like me! You are doing your best and thats all you can do. I bet his wobbles will go away and he’ll be just duckie! Just breathe darlin’. You just keep doin’ your best.
