Uh oh, why am I ordering more chicks already???

yeah... and to think i was ok with regular math when i was in school

i have over 100 chickens
7 brooders filled with chicks of various ages and turkey poults in the house
and more eggs in the incubator... *sighs*...

Well, math was NOT my best subject

, so from what you all are saying I'm headed down that slippery slope

I've had a chick brooder in my living room since April!

Started with 21, and ordered 35 more before the first were ready to go outside. Then they got me a incubator for mothers day, and I've hatched 3 times in it. I think I have 80 chickens

, but kinda lost count. Oh, I almost forgot the 4 Banty's my cousin gave me, one of them is setting now. So I maybe in trouble too...

Lucky for me my Husband love chickens too. We are planning on expanding the coop and run a third time.

LOL so good to know I'm far from alone!

I am concerned about the weather - if it is still looking nasty hot for August 8th when the new babies are supposed to ship, I will definitely cancel my order (eat the 10 processing fee - what's that really now that we have put hundreds into the coop? ) and TRY to wait until next spring...

Yeah so my first chick order arrived all safe and sound on 7/19!!!!

So what did I do yesterday? I called MPC and added to my order for 9/12 of course!! But that only increased it from 5 chicks to 8 which means if all goes well I will have a total flock of 17. Until next spring of course - when I will probably double that.

What? Wife is tired of me ordering chicks all the time? Well shucks, gonna have to get a 'bator then...

2 months later....

Wife trying to convince me to try to return the bator and just buy 1 or 2 batches of chicks each year! JK, she really is on board (at least in my head).

If I had the money right now I'd be ordering more too! lol. As it is I have 23 chicks in a 8x4 coop and 12x8 run and that's not enough room. It's temporary until BF can add on so I don't want to overload my little pen even more than it is no matter how much I want more of them. lol

lol shoot i was hooked the second I discoverd that the stray had her chicks under our porch, and I wanted to Hatch my own rite then and there!. it's only been 2 weeks since our family of chicks moved in, and the next day I was looking up Incubators on the internet and Discoverd BYC, Built my porch into a coop, and Now i'm planning on building a pallet coop and Incubating eggs and expanding our feather family!!! LOL
